Corey Taylor Confirms Stone Sour For Soundwave 2013

Update 08/08: Soundwave 2013 lineup has been officially announced! Check it out here!

It looks like another band has now been confirmed for the Soundwave 2013 lineup. This time it’ll be Corey Taylor visiting us once again with his band Stone Sour. A tweet from Australia’s own Blunt Mag has revealed (below) that they will be on the lineup, confirming the already strong rumours that they would be looking good for a headline slot.

After appearing at Soundwave 2012 with Slipknot, Corey Taylor has been spending more time with Stone Sour. Their fourth studio effort House of Gold and Bones is nearly done and fans can expect a two-part concept album, with part one coming later this year, and part two sometime in 2013. Track names will include: Taciturn, Absolute Zero, RU486 and A Rumor of Skin. The band also plan to release a comic book to coincide with the album’s release

Taylor has elaborated on previous insights into the album, including what concept the album will be based around, stating in an interview with Revolver that “The album is a morality play about a man who’s standing at the crossroads of his life trying to figure out what to do next”, he said. “He’s going, ‘Do I move forward and evolve? Do I become more responsible or do I run backwards and pilfer the basket of youth?’ Sometimes it’s romantic to live in the mistakes that you made when you were 20, and condemn yourself to perpetual adolescence.”

Stone Sour join other confirmed bands for 2013, including, Cancer Bats, Kingdom of Sorrow, Six Feet Under, and The Blackout. Other likely but not 100% bands include Blink-182, 4ARM, Tenacious D, and Anti-Flag (to return again).
