THIS THAT Festival will take place for a second time in 2022, with organisers revealing the lineup for the event’s return to Newcastle and Sandstone Point in October and November respectively.
On the international front, Earl Sweatshirt and UPSAHL feature on the bill, which otherwise is heavily local.
Flight Facilities, Ruby Fields, Dear Seattle, Trophy Eyes and Vera Blue are among the local acts who feature on the lineup for both events.

Flight Facilities, Winston Surfshirt, Alice Ivy, Jesswar, Ruby Fields, Dear Seattle, Trophy Eyes and Vera Blue are among those who feature on the lineup for both events – DMA’S and the Presets are both Newcastle-exclusive, while What So Not will appear at Sandstone Point only (peep the full lineup for both events below).
THIS THAT’s Sandstone Point iteration will take place on Saturday, 29th October. It’ll head to Newcastle the following weekend on Saturday, 5th November.
The last edition of THIS THAT took place in March of this year, after the 2021 edition was postponed, with organisers citing COVID-related logistical complications. It marked the debut of the festival’s Queensland event, with a lineup that included the likes of Client Liaison, Polish Club, WAAX, Hayden James, The Chats, Budjerah, Spacey Jane and more.
