It’s official. Organisers behind Falls Festival will be including Boogie Nights in this year’s instalment of the franchise. Already with a cracker of a lineup, including The Flaming Lips, The Hives and Django Django, Falls will be adding even more for the event’s opening celebration.
Boogie Nights kicks off on day 1 of Falls Festival and normally provides an excellent excuse to dress up something crazy. This year, for example, punters will be inspired by the jungle-afro-funk to a cosmic-disco soundtrack theme, coming together for what on paper appears to be the ultimate safari party.
For this year, the night will be headlined by the antics of The Bamboos, who will be capping off a night filled with music from The Cuban Brothers, Legs Akimbo and Anna Lumb. Resident DJs will be scattered across both locations with DJs Russ Dewbury and DJ Manchild at Marion Bay and Chris Gill and Mohair Slim at Lorne. Lorne will also be privy to a very rare solo piano performance from Muscles himself.
It’s slim pickings I’m afriad for tix at this point in time. Lorne is totally gone, unless you know someone dropping out, and Marion Bay are getting less and less by the hour, so wait no longer!
