FBi Unveils 2014 SMAC Awards Nominees

The seventh year of FBi Radio‘s Sydney Music Arts & Culture (SMAC) Awards is upon us, the Sydney community station unveiling its 2014 nominees. On the music side of things, Caitlin Park, Seekae, Spookyland, Mansionair and Basenji lead all other nominees with two nods apiece.

The FBi SMAC awards recognise the outstanding artists, musicians, performers, events and foodies who have contributed to Sydney’s creative culture in the past year. There are over 60 nominees across 11 categories in 2014, including a new award for Best Producer, which will recognise some of Sydney’s most prolific beat makers. The new prize will be presented by FBi‘s electronic music station, FBi Click.

Sydney locals The Preatures, psych-rockers Cloud Control and musician Elizabeth Rose won big at last year’s FBi SMAC awards. This year’s winners will be announced at an official ceremony on Tuesday, 20th January 2015, which will broadcast live on radio.

Exciting prizes, including tickets to the event, can be won by voting online via the FBi SMAC Awards website. Public voting for the 2014 awards begins today, 26th November, and is open until 5pm Tuesday, 23rd December.
