The year was 2005. Reality TV talent shows were at the height of the cultural zeitgeist, and Aussie rock icons INXS decided to capitalise on the format to bag themselves a new frontman to replace the late Michael Hutchence and build hype into a planned reunion album and tour.
Thus, the TV show Rockstar INXS was born, airing on Foxtel’s Fox 8 channel here in Australia. Think Australian Idol meets Behind the Music with a VH1 budget and a whole lot of leather pants. Sixteen wannabe rockstars from around the world competed by performing classic rock covers and original songs, all in the hope of becoming INXS’s new vocalist. And the ultimate winner in the band’s chaotic televised search was a Canadian singer by the name of JD Fortune.

Fortune went on to release a full studio album with INXS and embark on a world tour, selling out arenas across the globe, before ultimately parting ways with the band in 2009.
Now, he’s coming to Australia in solo mode for the very first time, treating fans down under to a setlist stacked with INXS bangers.
Fortune has announced a massive tour for this October, hitting 12 metro and regional dates across the country, kicking off in Brisbane before heading to Gold Coast, Coogee, Marrickville, Wollongong, Newcastle, Frankston, Melbourne (x2), Adelaide, Perth and wrapping up in Fremantle.
