Gold Coast shooting star Amy Shark can now add Lena Dunham to her burgeoning fanbase (which ICYMI also includes Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge).
The Girls star, mastermind and all-around genius has given the ‘Adore’ songstress a shoutout to her 4.6 million followers on Twitter, saying she’s “hardly exaggerating when I say you saved my life these past few weeks.”

Then, in response to another Sharkie who responded: “She’s a bloody Australian icon and she’s only been about for around a year. She’s such a lyrical superstar”, Dunham quoted the singer’s ‘Weekends’ lyric “And I hate every girl who’s ever known ya” along with a string of feelgood emojis.

Who knows, maybe Dunham might end up hopping a flight Down Under to catch Amy Shark live on her Night Thinker EP tour this August and September?
Meanwhile, Shark herself has tweeted some ~very~ inspiring words for aspiring musos who are down on their luck, reminding them that this time last year, she had “a demo called ‘Adore’ on [her] laptop”.
“Chin up, it can change quickly,” she writes.
We’ll say.
If you're a musician who's feeling low/deflated. This time last year I had a demo called Adore on my laptop. Chin up, it can change quickly
