Greta Thunberg’s Powerful UN Speech Has Been Turned Into A Death Metal Banger

The whole world is talking about 16-year-old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg right now, and the amazingly positive impact she and a stack of other teen climate activists are having. But, proving she can truly do it all, her speech at the United Nations Climate Action Summit has now been turned into a thrashing death metal banger.

John Meredith, drummer for New York-based metal band SUAKA, remixed Thunberg’s widely-viewed speech by growling over some of the words as she simultaneously spoke them and threw in some searing guitars in Pro Tools to give it a metal feel. And it worked.

“The words she chose just evoked the darkness of the metal music I love,” Meredith told Rolling Stone about why he created the remix, titled ‘Greta Thunberg sings Swedish Death Metal’.

“I guess I didn’t really have a specific intent other than to turn her brutal words into a metal song.”

Thunberg has heard the viral remix too, and now says she’s looking to make the pivot into Swedish death metal full time.

“I have moved on from this climate thing….From now on I will be doing death metal only!!” she tweeted.

Enjoy the remix below.
