Hear Thumpers’ Sterling Cover Of Flume & Chet Faker’s ‘Drop The Game’

UK duo Thumpers (childhood friends Marcus Pepperell and John Hamson Jr) have buoyed their Australian tour with a cover of Flume and Chet Faker‘s hit track Drop The Game.

Thumpers’ cover of Drop The Game (below) is well-and-truly faithful to the uber-popular original track, but gives the song new life with some squealing synthesizers, glass-like guitars, and plenty of hand-claps and choral chants.

Thumpers recently stopped by Music Feeds Studio to discuss the genesis of their debut album Galore, which was created with the help of Bat For Lashes producer Dave Kosten before being released in March this year.

“The fact that something we made in our parents’ kitchen has brought us here and we’re sitting talking to you, that is mind-blowing,” the duo told us the other day. “It doesn’t feel real that your album’s out on the other side of the world… until you see it in the shop when you’re there.”

Thumpers play Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club tonight, supported by Alex Cameron and Billy Fox as they wrap up their debut Australian tour. Full tour details below.
