Here’s 10-Year-Old Nandi Bushell’s Video Response To Dave Grohl Conceding Defeat In Their Epic Drum Battle

One of the few highlights of the incontrovertible toilet fire of 2020 has been the epic drum battle that’s unfolded online between rock legend Dave Grohl and pre-teen icon-in-the-making Nandi Bushell.

ICYMI: after months of back and forth, the Foo Fighter finally waved the white flag this week and conceded defeat, thus also marking 2020 as the year Dave Grohl was bested by a 10-year-old girl.

But, as anyone who’s familiar with Nandi’s talents knows, there’s no shame at all in that. And to her credit, the pre-teen punk queen has just posted a victory video that’s as A+ as anything she’s released to date.

“Mr. Grohl, thou declare defeat at my feet,” Nandi begins in the clip, where she appears dressed up as a rock n’ roll wizard, an angel and a devil respectively. “Your legend in history will echo in time, but still, you resign to a child of three-foot-nine.”

The pint-sized prodigy then goes on to invoke lyrics from ‘Tribute’, the Tenacious D hit that Grohl performed drums on (and played a demon in the music video for).

“And he said, ‘Be you an angel?’ And I said, ‘Nay, I am a woman! Rock!” she screams.

But their story doesn’t end there. As previously reported, Grohl & Bushell intend to get together to pen a collaborative track and perform together in the near future.

“This will be the greatest song in the world,” Bushell promises in her new video. “Yes! This will be no tribute.”

Meanwhile, the next Foo Fighters album Medicine At Midnight is out Friday, 5th February next year. We had a chat with the band ahead of its release and you can have a read here.
