Hits And Pits Festival Round 3 First Lineup Announcement

Following the success of last year’s Hits And Pits 2.0, the glorious festival of punk is back in 2014 for Hits & Pits Festival Round 3 this May, with a first lineup announcement featuring Strung Out, Face to Face, The Casualties, Death by Stereo, Big D & the Kids Table, and more!

Hits And Pits Festival Round 3 will fall on six dates between the 9th and 18th of May and will see this unique festival come to Byron Bay for the first time, as it makes its way down the East Coast. The Byron Bay show will take place at The Northern on Saturday, 10th May.

Top of the bill for the first announcement are Californian outfit Strung Out, who’ll be bringing 25 years worth of playing experience to Hits And Pits Round 3. The band will be making a triumphant return to our shores, with plenty of material from their seven studio albums in tow.

Fellow Californians Face to Face will be making their first appearance on a Hits & Pits lineup as these Southern California skate punkers return to full-gear from a hiatus that ultimately yielded their ninth full-length effort, Three Chords and a Half Truth, released last year.

New York veterans The Casualities are known for their adherence to a “fuckin’ real Hardcore Punk” attitude that has permeated nine studio albums and a relentless touring schedule. Albums such as Resistance show why The Casualties are consistently listed as an influence on countless bands.

Yet more Californian muscle in the form of Ten Foot Pole, who’ll be following up their successful maiden voyage to Australia that took place a couple years back. After 30 years in the business, these guys are an essential live experience for any true punk rock fan, young or old.

Joining these awesome groups will be Death by Stereo, Big D & the Kids Table, Masked Intruder, and Heartsounds, with more to be announced soon. Readers can check below for all details of the Hits And Pits Festival Round 3 tour, which kicks off in Brisbane on Friday, 9th May.

UPDATE 12:04pm 21/03/14: Having sold out the first announced Melbourne leg of the upcoming Hit & Pits Round 3 tour (Saturday, 17th May), the organisers have announced a second Melbourne show for Wednesday, 14th May, which will feature Strung Out playing their second studio album, Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues, in full.

Taking place on a Wednesday, the show will also be slightly reduced, featuring six Hits & Pits bands, including Strung Out, Unwritten Law, Face to Face, Ten Foot Pole, Death By Stereo, and Masked Intruder. See all dates and ticketing details below.
