Hockey Dad’s ‘Brain Candy’ Drive-In Shows Have Been Postponed

Hockey Dad‘s Alive At The Drive-In album launch shows at Bulli Showground in Wollongong this week have been postponed due to recent weather.

According to a statement, after more than 180mm of rain falling in the Wollongong area over the last three days the Bulli Showground is unusable to host the events, due to take place this Friday and Saturday.

The band have rescheduled the shows to Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10 at the same venue. Tickets for the sold-out July 31 show will be valid for the Friday, October 9 show and tickets for the August 1 show will be valid for the Saturday, October 10. Refunds are available for those that cannot attend the rescheduled dates.

“2020 has thrown a lot at us. Fires, COVID19, but it’s the rain that’s put the brakes on these two shows,” says show organiser, Farmer & The Owl’s Ben Tillman in a statement. “To have 400 cars each night on the Bulli Showground after all the rain we’ve had just isn’t safe or logistically possible. It would have turned into a big mud pit, everyone would have gotten bogged and no one would be getting out of there, which ultimately would have meant the 2nd show got cancelled anyways. It’s a hard decision to make but the safety of fans and our ability to execute the event to the best standard is paramount. The good news is that Hockey Dad have a new album released this week and we look forward to seeing fans celebrate Brain Candy with us on October 9 and 10.”
