They top a crop of 14 new acts added to next year’s lineup in today’s big reveal, which also includes travelling merchants of R&B blues Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, vocal powerhouse Imelda May, plus locals Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Archie Roach, Pierce Brothers and more.
“With our third artist announcement for Easter 2019, featuring 14 great artists, it brings us to almost 60 artists announced to date – with plenty more to come,” hypes festival boss Peter Noble.
“You can now start to see the great headliners and depth of talent that are joining us to celebrate our 30th Anniversary, including the incredible Iggy Pop and nine-time Grammy winner Norah Jones.”
Bluesfest was criticised by some for a male-dominated first lineup it announced back in August, but has since righted the ship with a much more gender-diverse bill featuring the likes of Kasey Chambers and Mavis Staples.
The likes of Kurt Vile, Allen Stone, Ray LaMontagne and George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic have already announced Bluesfest sideshows for next year. You can study up on the sideshows announced so far right here or catch the full Bluesfest 2019 lineup so far, below.
