Isabella Manfredi Announces Debut Solo Album, Shares Pricie Collab ‘Naive’

Former Preatures frontwoman Isabella Manfredi has announced that her debut solo album, izzi, will arrive on Friday, 2nd September via Island Records Australia/UMA. After the Sydney band announced their split last year, Manfredi kicked off her solo project with the single ‘Jealousy’, which is set to feature on izzi.

To coincide with the album announcement, Manfredi has shared ‘Naive’, the second single to be lifted from izzi‘Naive’ is a collaboration with singer and rapper Pricie, who’s the album’s only featured guest. It’s a glistening, nostalgic pop cut that arrives alongside a video directed by Rowena Rasmussen.

Manfredi enlisted a long list of collaborators to assist with bringing izzi to life. She constructed a band comprising Warpaint‘s Stella Mozgawa on drums, Mikey di Francesco (aka Touch Sensitive) on bass and Kirin J Callinan on guitar, while Jonathan Wilson (Father John Misty) co-produced six tracks. There are songs co-written by Emma Louise and Lucy Taylor (Dua Lipa, Bec Sandridge), and Wilson and multi-instrumentalists Jeffertitti Moon and Drew Erickson also perform on the record.

“This album has been unique in that it felt like an exploration and development of a new artist and also the culmination of a decade’s vision,” Manfredi said of izzi in a press release. “It is like a beginning and an ending in that sense. That’s why I called it izzi.

izzi was the chrome-wheel-spinning character onstage when I was with The Preatures. I wanted to capture her essence but also create space for my true adult self to have longevity and move beyond her if I needed to. I am izzi but she is not me.”
