Josh Homme Says New Arctic Monkeys Is “A Modern, Dancefloor Sexy Record”

If Josh Homme says it, it’s got to be true, right? It has been reported that the Queens Of The Stone Age frontman is singing the praises of the upcoming Arctic Monkeys full-length, AM. Homme contributed vocals to the follow-up to 2011’s Suck It And See, which is slated for release 6th September.

Our favourite redhead was at Rock for People Festival in the Czech Republic, where QOTSA were playing material from their own super-excellent new release, …Like Clockwork, and said that album number five from the Sheffield indie outfit is “really cool”:

“I sang on the new Arctic Monkeys record. It’s a really cool, sexy after-midnight record. It’s called ‘AM’, so I guess that’s really obvious. And it’s really good. It’s really good. It’s not disco but it’s like a modern, dancefloor sexy record. It’s really good.”

The Monkeys have already dropped the first single from the record, Do I Wanna Know?, and are set to tour the UK and Ireland in November and December, following the release of AM. Here’s hoping they carry on the touring good times with a trip to Australia for our summer festival season in late 2013 or early 2014 so we can check out the new tunes live ourselves.
