Kendrick Lamar Takes Aim At Racists With ‘The Blacker The Berry’

Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar has shared The Blacker The Berry, another new track fueling hype in the lead up to his still officially unannounced follow-up to 2012’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D City.

Produced by Canadian producer Boi-1da with additional production from rapper and beatmaker Terrace Martin, The Blacker The Berry (below) sees Lamar’s music take a darker turn than the uplifting melodies of his recent single recent single i, which claimed him nods for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at the Grammy awards yesterday.

The Blacker The Berry takes aim at America’s continuing race issues, and features some stellar lyrics from Kendrick, including, “I’m African American / I’m African, I’m black as the moon / Heritage of a small village / Part of my residence / Came from the bottom of mankind / My hair is nappy / My dick is big / My nose is round and wide / You hate me don’t you? / You hate my people / You’re plan is to terminate my culture.”

Kendrick Lamar also debuted an untitled new song from his next project on The Colbert Report in December last year.
