King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have kept busy over the last 12 months and show no signs of slowing, announcing a whole new string of national tour dates. The Melbourne lads will be taking their fuzz-drenched noise-fests to venues across the country from this August, on into September.
The band are hot off a debut North American tour, which saw them perform during Austin Psych Fest, Brookyln’s Northside Festival, and Canadian Music Week, in addition to a 12-date club tour across the US East Coast, including a June residency at Brooklyn venue Baby’s Alright.
Despite the hectic touring schedule, the band still managed to fit in a recording session at the famous Daptone studios — the stomping grounds of acclaimed Daptone performers like Charles Bradley and Sharon Jones — and holed up in a Catskill Mountains lodge to finish their next record.
Now back on home soil and readying their fifth LP, the band are about to embark on an extensive tour which is set to include another multi-night stint in Melbourne to hit up venues they missed on their last five-venue jaunt, and their first ever show in China during the Modern Sky Festival.
The Murlocs will support the Gizz on the East Coast leg of the tour. This will be the last chance Aussie fans get to see King Gizzard before they head back to the US and Europe to support the release of their new album and for a new tour, including shows with Mac DeMarco.
