Kisschasy Are Breaking Up, But Not Before One Final Farewell Tour

2015 marks the ten year anniversary of beloved Australian rockers Kisschasy‘s hit debut LP United Paper People, and the band have used the occasion to make a very bittersweet announcement.

After dominating the Australian festival scene, scooping up two gold singles, two gold albums, multiple ARIA Awards and countless sold out tours, Kisschasy have decided to call it quits. But don’t fear, they won’t be leaving fans high and dry.

The Aussie rockers will be heading out on one final tour this October, where they’ll be celebrating the ten year anniversary of their hit debut LP United Paper People and saying farewell to fans by playing their debut record in full, alongside other crowd faves.

“Some of you may see this as sad news but we feel quite the contrary. Kisschasy as a unit is stronger than ever, we have more fun playing live than ever and we are more grateful to our fans than ever,” explain the band in a heartfelt Facebook post, (below).

“The main point is, we don’t feel like, as a band, we can supersede what we’ve already accomplished musically. We have three records that we’re incredibly proud of and, rather than milk the band for everything it’s worth, we feel the best way to honour our fans and the music is to bow out with integrity. The history books are filled with bands and artists who should’ve called it a day at their peak rather than slowly fading away. We don’t want to be another chapter in this history.”

Joining Kisschasy on all dates for the impending tour will ne loved Tassie punk rock guys Luca Brasi.

“It is now time to pass the torch to the next generation of inspired individuals, because that’s what you, the people who drive hundreds of kilometres to see a show, who play their favourite band’s record until the grooves are worn out, who wear their favourite bands t-shirt until it’s tattered and frayed, deserve,” add Kisschasy.
