Co-founder of the iconic Sonic Youth, Lee Ranaldo, is headed to Australia with his band in tow for two solo performances in Sydney and Brisbane respectively before then heading to Melbourne to join the bill at this year’s Melbourne Festival, which also boasts fellow/former Sonic Youth member Thurston Moore.
Lee Ranaldo will be here on the back of his latest solo record Between the Times and the Tides, which was put together with the help of Nels Cline, Alan Licht, John Medeski, bassist Irwin Menken and long-standing collaborator Steve Shelley, and it is available now for purchase or on Spotify.
Ranaldo has also been anointed as the greatest guitar player of all time by Spin Magazine, sharing the number one spot with the aforementioned Moore. The duo edged out Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields for the top position.
