Listen: Amanda Palmer ‘Do It With A Rockstar’ Up For Free Download

Amanda Palmer made headlines recently after a massively successful Kickstarter campaign to fund her soon-to-be released album Theatre Is Evil.

Featuring her new band, The Grand Theft Orchestra, Palmer has handed down her new single Do It With a Rockstar to fans for free download. The track was originally available on her website for a very limited time, but it’s now out there for all to enjoy.

In support of the album, which is set to hit stores in September, Palmer and her band will be embarking on a series of tour dates through the UK and US for a run of intimate live performances. These will be accompanied by a stunning visual arts showcase featuring artwork from the likes of Shepard Fairey, Kristin Hersh and David Mack.

Devised under the premise of rewarding her fans who bankrolled the project, Palmer has said of the up-and-coming tour dates, according to The Quiet Us, “I’m pretty sure I became a musician so I’d have an excellent excuse to throw an Art Party everywhere I went. This upcoming gallery tour is about as close as I get to fulfilling that fantasy: wine flowing, visual art and artists everywhere, music playing loudly, and everybody excited about the album in one tiny room, jumping up and down…it doesn’t get any better than that, really.”

Check out the tune below. There is no word yet on when Australians will be able to experience the music and art exhibition, but we will be sure to keep you posted.
