LISTEN: Brody Dalle – ‘Meet The Foetus / Oh The Joy’

Former member of The Distillers and Spinnerette and all-round punk icon Brody Dalle has shared a brand new track from her forthcoming and as-yet untitled solo album. The track is titled Meet The Foetus / Oh The Joy and readers can stream the track in its entirety down below.

A song about creating life, the track is allegedly responsible for reinvigorating Dalle and kickstarting the whole album process. If you listen carefully, you can hear vocal contributions from fellow rock goddesses Shirley Manson of Garbage and Emily Kokal of indie heroes Warpaint.

Dalle co-produced all of her new material with multi-instrumentalist Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, Them Crooked Vultures) and her husband, Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, in California. Said Dalle of the process behind the new record:

“I’ve always had a hand in crafting how it’s going to sound and hearing it and trying to make that happen. But it’s the first time I’ve put my name on something for production.”

Meet The Foetus / Oh The Joy will be available for purchase via iTunes this Friday, 14th February. Dalle will hit Australian shores in March as she supports her husband’s band on their co-headlining tour with industrial rockers Nine Inch Nails. Readers can check out the full tour details below.
