LISTEN: SBTRKT – ‘Hold The Line’

SBTRKT, the musical project of producer Aaron Jerome, has dropped a brand new instrumental track called Hold The Line. The masked post-dubstep phenomenon debuted the track during an appearance on Mary Anne HobbsBBC Radio show, in anticipation of his upcoming new LP.

Hold The Line is the first in a series of instrumental vinyl (and possibly download) releases leading up to the next full-length SBTRKT release, which remains without a title or release date. Jerome debuted the track alongside a written message which Hobbs read in full on air, saying:

“These tracks will form a collection of vinyl 12″s before my next album and its singles, maybe a digital release too. They’ll be out in a couple of months.

“All instrumental stuff, along the lines of the music that I put out on Ramp or the early Young Turks releases, transitioning between my last album and the next one.”

SBTRKT put out his eponymous debut album in 2011 on the Young Turks label, garnering much critical acclaim for Jerome’s skill in the studio and his subtle and emotive arrangements. With this new hint at his future sound, there’ll surely be no let-up in the hype.
