Listen To The First Two Episodes Of The New White Stripes Podcast From Third Man Records

Jack White’s Third Man Records have released the first two episodes of Striped: The Story of the White Stripes, which, unsurprisingly, chronicles the band’s early years.

“Two decades ago, The White Stripes hit the scene in a real way. Jack and Meg White dropped their debut album, blew minds, toured with Pavement, and sowed the seeds of worldwide rock and roll domination — with some bumps along the way,” reads the podcast’s synopsis.

“In season one, you’ll hear that story from the people who witnessed it firsthand.”

The podcast is hosted by journalist Sean Cannon, and will feature interviews with members of bands such as The MC5, Pavement, The Raconteurs and The Dirtbombs, plus filmmaker Lance Bangs.

It’s part of the band’s 20th anniversary celebrations, which include the release of a limited edition box set titled The White Stripes XX and includes unheard live recordings from one of the band’s first shows, an LP featuring alternate and unheard takes from tracks on the record – mixed by Jack White at Third Man Studios, a 24-page archival booklet with a whole stack of images from the era as well as a DVD of two of the band’s 1999 performances.
