Texan Prog-rock Pioneers The Mars Volta have announced their Splendour in the Grass 2011 Sideshows for Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide this August.
The band recently showcased new material at SXSW and various shows through April while playing under Omar Rodriguez-Lopez’s solo act Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group(?). However, Rodriguez-Lopez later denied that the shows were “secret Mars Volta” shows on his Facebook page. Its unknown whether the material played will be for their upcoming sixth album.
