Omar Rodriguez Lopez from progressive rock band The Mars Volta will be touring Australia in December with Mexican femme garage punk band Le Butcherettes.
He announced the tour via his Facebook page this afternoon stating, “Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group & Le Butcherettes Official are heading to Australia for a TOUR together in December 2011 – Blizzard of Oz”
Recently he was out here with Volta on the Splendour in the Grass 2011 line-up.
There’s been some talk about when Warner Bros will release the follow-up to the band’s 2009 album Octahedron, with fans slamming the Warner Bros. Facebook page in order to get a response.
The album has now been tentatively planned to be released early next year, with Bixler-Zavala admitting to taking heavy influence from Nick Cave’s Grinderman.
