Metallica have made the transition from headlining festivals to curating festivals by creating a new event called Orion Music + More. The event is being organised in conjunction with C3 Presents, who organise Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and will be giving Big Day Out organisers some help their 2013 event.
The two-night event will be held annually, and will include music, arts, and lifestyle elements that will reflect the band members’ interests. Metallica will headline both nights and play The Black Album in its entirety one night, and Ride The Lightning in its entirety the other. Despite Metallica running and headlining the show, it will include bands from a wide range of genres, including Arctic Monkeys, Best Coast and Roky Erickson.
