Four more local acts have been added to the festivities of South by Southwest Music Festival and Conference 2015. Rocking Austin, Texas all Aussie-style will be Mansionair, Hiatus Kaiyote, Gang Of Youths, and Lenka.
Sydney indie rock trio Mansionair have gotten plenty of attention and triple j rotation thanks to killer single Hold Me Down. SXSW 2015 will the first time Mansionair will play the event and we’ve got no doubt the lads will do us proud. Make sure to catch Mansionair at Laneway 2015 before they head to Texas.
Melbourne outfit Hiatus Kaiyote have long since earned a reputation as genre busters, whose fluid ‘future soul’ sound saw the band perform at the pre-telecast show for the 2014 Grammy Awards while also being nominated for Best R&B Performance.
Sydney rock act Gang Of Youths and Bega-born alt pop artist Lenka round out the second wave of Australian acts headed to SXSW 2015. This latest round of Australian additions will join the likes of Angus & Julia Stone, Ball Park Music, and Courtney Barnett.
80s icons The Church will also be on hand as part of SXSW’s seminars and keynotes. SXSW 2015 will showcase up to 2000 acts across 100 venues and runs from Tuesday, 17th March 17 to Sunday, 22nd March. You can check out the full list of SXSW 2015 second wave acts, from across the globe, here.
