música/TUMBALONG Festival To Return In 2013 – Expands To Melbourne And Auckland

After the success of the inaugural música/TUMBALONG festival last year, which hosted some of the most exciting emerging international and Australian artists across the electronic music and indie spectrum, música/PRODUCTIONS will once again bring the festival back for 2013.

The most exciting news about this announcement is that Sydney will not be the only city to enjoy it. This time around we’ll see an expansion into Melbourne, as well as across the ditch to our fellow brothers and sisters in Auckland. Director Kane Bligh spoke about his excitement to push the festival to greater limits today, saying:

“We had an overwhelming reaction to the first event in Tumbalong from public and industry and it was always in our sights to expand into Melbourne and Auckland (my hometown), if things went well in the first year,” said Bligh.

“We have some very exciting acts and performances in the coming lineup, so we can promise another progressive, electric event, staying true to our mantra ‘Never Stand Still’.”

Bligh stated that música/EVENTS will return with the same intimate, sophisticated culture of Tumbalong 2011, tailored for open-minded crowds who are united by new ideas in sound and artistic development.

No dates have been confirmed yet, but all three events will be held sometime in 2013.

We spoke to Kane Bligh when música/EVENTS celebrated the launch of música/RECORDINGS earlier this year. Check out the interview below.
