The long-awaited Avalanches new album may just come out this year. We’ve heard it all before but according to collaborater Jennifer Herrema, everything is on track for a 2012 release. The Avalanches tweeted about the collaboration with Jennifer in December:

They also posted a picture and some song lyrics with a caption that read ‘probably the best song we ever done’.
Now in a recent interview, Jennifer Herrema has confirmed the band are planing to release the album this year. She told Pitchfork:
They (The Avalanches) said the album is definitely going to come out this year, and I heard Danny Brown is going to guest on the record too.
The album was penned for release in 2011 and the band planed to return to the live festival circuit last summer, however this failed to eventuate.
