Police Call For Witnesses After Groovin The Moo Bunbury Assault

Police are appealing for witness to an assault on a 34-year-old Perth man who was knocked unconscious at this year’s Groovin The Moo festival in Bunbury over the weekend.

According to The Bunbury Mail, the man sustained a swollen lip, bruises and swelling to his temple and jaw. The police say one man is currently assisting them with their inquiries.

Although 22 people were charged in relation to a range of offences, local police have thanked the majority of the 20,000 festival goers for their good behaviour. Charges ranged from possessing prohibited drugs with intent to sell or supply to assaulting a police officer and a security guard.

As a result of the work of the Police Dog Squad, 11 people were detected with drugs on their person and are set to face Bunbury Magistrates Court.

A capacity crowd showed up at Bunbury’s Hay Park for Groovin The Moo 2014’s final stop this weekend. Big name acts making waves on the day included, Allday, Illy, Violent Soho, Thundamentals, Dizzee Rascal, and Disclosure.

Anyone with information on the assault is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
