Police Confirm 2 Chainz Robbed At Gunpoint, Say Rapper “Fell To The Ground”

2 Chainz has denied reports he was the victim of an armed robbery on Sunday outside a medicinal marijuana outlet in Oakland, California, although police have issued a report that says otherwise.

Reports broke yesterday that 2 Chainz and 2 members of his entourage were robbed at gunpoint and several shots were fired but then the Atlanta rapper took to the stage at Summer Jam that evening, suggesting all was in fact well. Mr Chainz, real name Tauheed Epps, then took to Twitter to dispel the rumours, suggesting that there was no robbery, just him and his boys smoking a little green before his show.

Now more information has been released from the boys in blue, with the San Francisco PD’s Sergeant Dennis Toomer telling Radio.com that 2 Chainz and his crew were approached by a suspect with a gun at about 4:30pm on Sunday arvo local time. When the suspect fired a shot, most of the posse took off but 2 Chainz fell to the ground and was then mugged by the suspect, losing his credit cards, some cash and his cell phone. Police have said that the victims “are being very uncooperative” and that the suspect has not been found.

Earlier today the po-po told a different story, with Toomer informing Radio.com that the robbery did indeed go down but it was a friend of 2 Chainz’s that was the actual victim, not the rapper himself, saying, “He was not the victim of a robbery. He was there, but he wasn’t the victim.”

Mr Chainz himself is still denying the reports, with the rapper tweeting, “Rule #1 if a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch , money etc.”

Who are we to believe here? Is this a case of mistaken identity or is 2 Chainz trying to protect his pride? There’s only one thing we can confirm for sure here: some reefer was smoked on Sunday afternoon, and 2 Chainz performed at Summer Jam. Whether he performed with or without his trademark neckwear has yet to be confirmed.
