Portishead will release a 12″ single version of 2009 charity single Chase The Tear on 14 November worldwide.
As announced on Jimmy Fallon’s show last night, where they performed the song live, the limited edition vinyl will be released through XL, with the B-side being a new remix version of the song by Canadian band, Doldrums. All proceeds from sales will go to Amnesty International. The track was originally released in December 2009 for Human Rights Day, again raising money for Amnesty.
The vinyl will come with a download code for the mp3 version and will also be available to buy at Portishead live shows.
Portishead headline Harvest Festival, taking place in Melbourne (under the heading, The Gathering) on 12 November, Sydney on 13 November and Brisbane on 19 November. They also perform two club dates, in Perth and Adelaide, supported by Mercury Rev, on 15 and 17 November respectively.
