Purity Ring Announce 2013 Dates

After the release of their debut album Shrines, Canadian electronic outfit Purity Ring have (finally) announced a string of East Coast dates to coincide with their appearance at the 2013 instalation of Golden Plains festival, held at the famed supernatural amphitheatre.

The Halifax group first came to the attention of the world’s ears when they released their first single Ungirthed last year, with several other songs such as Loftcries clocking up a solid 9 million views on YouTube; not half bad for a band that only formed in 2010.

Their debut album received critical acclaim from renowned hardliners Pitchfork and The Age, who described it as “an LP that feels ancient and futurist,” and gave it a full 5 stars. With this in mind, it is hard to envisage what their live show will be like; however, there are high expectations after the sensational reception they received from their previous tours.

Commencing their European tour today, the two-piece will play three intimate venues, allowing them to truly wield their electronic, dream-synth sound to its full, live potential. Tickets are already on sale, so go!
