Puscifer Announce New Album ‘Money Shot’, Share New Song ‘Grand Canyon’

While the world waits for the super-highly-anticipated new Tool album, the band’s frontman, Maynard James Keenan, has announced Money Shot, the new album from his electronic-rock side project, Puscifer.

As Rolling Stone reports, Puscifer’s third album will be released on 30th October, and the band have offered up a first taste of the 10-track record in the form of Grand Canyon, which can be streamed below.

The Grand Canyon video features footage of the desert landscape, while Keenan and regular collaborator Carina Round sing over the song’s pulsing backdrop. The clip ends with the two lucha libre–masked characters from Puscifer’s Toma video standing at the edge of a cliff.

Speaking about Money Shot, Keenan has been as cryptic as ever, saying, “It’s extremely satisfying to witness simple conversations and ideas transform into completed sonic landscapes. And to have these stories go above and beyond the initial ideas makes my grumpy heart swell three sizes.”

Speaking of grumpy hearts swelling three sizes — Tool’s latest album, 10,000 Days, was released 10,000 days ago in 2006, but the band continue to tease music from studio sessions.

Puscifer’s latest album, Conditions of My Parole, was released in 2011. With Keenan remaining the only constant member of the band, its roster now includes Carina Round, Mat Mitchell, Juliette Commagere, Devo Keenan, Tim Alexander, Jon Theodore, Jeff Friedl and Matt McJunkins.

Money Shot‘s tracklisting and cover art are yet to be revealed, but you can catch Grand Canyon in full, below.
