The Ramones’ Marky Ramone Is Bringing His ‘Blitzkrieg Tour’ To Australia

ATTENTION Ramones fans: One of the last remaining members of the iconic punk outfit, Marky Ramone, has announced that he’s bringing his ‘Blitzkrieg Tour’ to Australia in 2017.

The muso, who played drums for most of The Ramones’ career, is bringing a stack of the band’s classic tracks down under this November, for shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Frankston, Adelaide and Perth.

“The setlist is 38 Ramones songs,” Marky says.

“Every song that we play, people are gonna know. It extends from the first album, [1976’s The Ramones] all the way to Pleasant Dreams and the Brain Drain album.”

So, expect to hears punk classics like ‘I Wanna Be Sedated’, ‘Blitzkrieg Bop’, ‘Judy Is A Punk’, ‘Rock & Roll High School’ and more — just make sure you don’t hold up your phone the whole time (Marky hates that).

“I always enjoy playing these songs,” Marky says.

“The audiences get younger and younger and it’s just a privilege to play to an audience that wasn’t around when we were together. Playing in front of 18-22-year-olds is great because they love the energy and the lyrical content… it’s fresh and new again. It’s a lot of fun.”
