Chicago pop punk outfit Real Friends have announced they will be returning to Australia for a run of headline shows this June.
Last in the country for Soundwave 2014, where they also played a pair of Sidewaves with Mayday Parade and The Story So Far, Real Friends will this time helm their own headline shows, kicking off their 11-date run in Perth on Wednesday 10th June and finishing up in Adelaide on Sunday 21st June. That’s 11 shows in 12 days!
The band will return to Australia to showcase their debut studio album, Maybe This Place Is The Same And We’re Just Changing, which was released mid-way through 2014. The tour announcement also comes just a few weeks after Real Friends announced the premiere of their self-produced documentary Moving Forward – which can be viewed now at RealFriendsBand.com.
The 33-minute film captures personal interviews with each band member, interspersed with live footage from Warped Tour, their Europe tour and studio footage. “Making this documentary gave us a great opportunity to show our fans those inside details. It shows the growth of the band. It shows who we really are as people outside of playing music. And it gives our opinions on various things Real Friends related,” explains songwriter and bassist Kyle Fasel.
