Resellers Are Flogging Adele Tickets For Up To $5,600

Adele‘s Aussie tour tickets went on sale today and to say they’re going quickly would be an understatement.

Fans lashed out at ticketing sites as both Ticketmaster and Ticketek were unresponsive to some fans due to demand and two new shows were added almost immediately.

Now ticket resale sites are already flogging tickets to the concert, which retailed for less than $300, for more than $5,000.

As The Guardian reports, some tickets to the Perth show at Domain Stadium are going for $5,665.91 for a D Reserve seat on ticket reseller Viagogo. It’s possible that this is a scalper trying their luck at selling to desperate Adele fans but other tickets for each city on the site are also going for well beyond $1,000.

On Ebay tickets are also going for around $1,000.

Adele herself has called out those who resell tickets to her concerts at inflated prices.

“You’ve got all those terrible people selling tickets for £25,000 a pair,” she said during a show at London’s O2 Arena this year.

“I hope no one paid that much. If you did I’ll pay you back.”

Given the demand for Adele tickets worldwide, if she did actually pay everyone back who bought inflated tickets, she’d be chipping away significantly at her large fortune.

Ticketek has also warned fans against buying from ticket resellers saying that it won’t guarantee entry into the event.

“We see countless examples of people who buy from resale and never receive tickets or find that they are the third or fourth buyer of the same ticket. Fans should only purchase tickets from the official ticketing agent,” they told The Guardian.

The demand for tickets for Adele’s Australian tour was always expected to be high. It’s the first time she’s ever toured here and her last album 25 was the highest selling album of the year in Australia last year.
