Saul Williams Cast As Lead In Tupac Musical

American musician, actor and poet Saul Williams has been cast in the lead role for the forthcoming musical based on the music and life of rapper Tupac Shakur, titled Holler If Ya Hear Me.

The musical, which is scheduled to begin previews on 29th May before opening on 19th June, is loosely based on Shakur’s “life and lyrics”, and has been described as “a non-biographical story about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope” by producers.

Williams is perhaps best known for the 1998 film Slam and a 2007 collaboration with Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, who produced Williams’ third studio album The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust!.
