UPDATE 06/04/17:

The assault charges against Shannon Noll have been dropped.

ORIGINAL STORY: Former Australian Idol runner-up and current meme Shannon Noll has been arrested and charged after allegedly assaulting a strip club bouncer in Adelaide on Sunday morning.

As News Corp Australia reports, Nollsie was involved in a scuffle at the Crazy Horse club on Hindley Street at around 2:30am local time this morning, and a witness has said the singer was drunk.

19-year-old Alastair Longmuir was waiting to enter the strip club when Noll was being removed from the venue by security guards.

“They brought out this intoxicated man and I was like, ‘That’s Shannon Noll,'” he says. “He was intoxicated and screaming. He kept saying ‘I’m Shannon Noll, let me back in.'”

Noll allegedly punched a security guard, before being restrained by three guards and being taken away by police in a big black shiny car paddy wagon.

Police have since confirmed that a 41-year-old man they arrested has been charged with two counts of assault, and has been bailed to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court next month.

Noll, who is a government ambassador for live music, was in Adelaide to perform at Mary Ann Reserve as part of the ‘Red Hot Summer Tour’ on Saturday.
