Something For Kate Announce ‘Elsewhere For 8 Minutes’ Anniversary Tour

The dust has barely settled on Something For Kate‘s Echolalia 20th-anniversary celebrations, but the band are already focused on their next significant milestone. This year marks 25 years since Something For Kate released their debut album, Elsewhere For 8 Minutes, and the trio of Paul Dempsey, Clint Hyndman, and Stephanie Ashworth are hitting the road in its honour.

Elsewhere For 8 Minutes is regarded as a classic entry in the Something For Kate discography. Featuring songs like ‘Captain (Million Miles an Hour)’ and ‘Pinstripe’, it’s a beloved record that’ll receive the proper anniversary treatment this August.

Not only will Something For Kate be performing the record in full – as a trio, sans touring musicians – but Elsewhere For 8 Minutes will be reissued as a special 25th anniversary vinyl edition, complete with updated artwork and lyric sheets.

Elsewhere For 8 Minutes was recorded in early 1997 in Auckland, New Zealand, with producer Brian Paulson. The album was officially released in July of that year. It’s the only Something For Kate album that doesn’t feature bassist Stephanie Ashworth. Ashworth joined the band in 1998 following the departure of original member Julian Carroll.

Details surrounding the re-release of Elsewhere For 8 Minutes are still to be confirmed, however tour dates and ticketing details are available below.
