Southbound Festival Expands To Three Days In 2016

The dates for the 2016 instalment of WA’s Southbound festival have been announced along with the news that next year’s event will feature an extra day and night of New Year entertainment.

Southbound 2016 will take place on Friday January 8th until Sunday January 10th, at its usual home venue of Busselton in Western Australia. This year sees the the introduction of Friday Night Fever, an extra day and night of summer festivities and live music.

The extra day means that keen punters will have the opportunity to get their hands on a three-day camping ticket and will have more time to set up camp, before partying the January night away.

Last year the city of Busselton approved changes to the site camping rules, allowing punters for the first time the ability to drive into their camping spot, setting up for the weekend right next to their cars and thus not have to trudge up and down the venue with their camping gear.

There’s no word yet as to who may appear on the Southbound 2016 lineup, but make sure to stay tuned here for all the latest festival news as it happens. The 2015 Southbound lineup featured the likes of alt-J, Milky Chance, SBTRKT and Jamie xx.
