Splendour In The Grass 2013 Lineup Announcement

The time has finally come for the official Splendour In The Grass 2013 lineup announcement, one of the most anticipated on the Australian festival roster. The midwinter 3-day event is back and bigger than ever in 2013, and after last year’s event sold out in record time it’s no surprise the 2013 Splendour lineup is so massive.

Update: Lorde has been added to the line up. She will appear at 5.30pm on Sunday night, with all other acts scheduled to appear on the Supertop moving up a slot. Of Monsters And Men will be performing in the headline slot instead of Frank Ocean, whose cancellation was announced yesterday.

We’ll bring you all the news this morning as it happens, so sit tight and mash that F5 button. Refresh! Refresh!

Triple j’s Tom & Alex will have the lineup after 8am, and are currently teasing Splendour bands, playing 3 songs by SITG artists between 7 and 8 this morning. Already played so far are The National, Empire Of The Sun, Architecture In Helsinki, Laura Marling, FIDLAR and The Klaxons.

Strong rumours already indicated a number of bands joining the Splendour roster, with our final countdown list giving the thumbs up to Alt-J, Of Monsters And Men and Jake Bugg.

The Polyphonic Spree were the first to self-confirm via Twitter, followed by Cold War Kids, James Blake, Wavves and Fidlar.

Airbourne was the first Australian act to announce they’d be kicking out the jams at Splendour, joining Australian stoner rock dons The Growl, who confirmed their appearance to Tone Deaf only yesterday.

Ticketing details were also revealed yesterday, with Splendour Members getting first dibs on the event. Exclusive pre-sale tickets go on sale to members this Friday, with general release to follow soon. Weekend tickets have remained at $350 + booking fee, with day passes hopping up a reasonable five bucks to $140 + booking fee.

Taking place over the weekend of Friday, 26th July to Sunday, 28th July, the camping festival has this year finally found a permanent home at North Byron Parklands, Yelgun after a two-year stint in Woodfordia, Queensland.
