Sydney’s free Surry Hills Festival has made its first lineup announcement for 2015, dropping names like rock duo The Stiffys, local dream-weavers Noire and singer-songwriter Leah Flanagan.
This year’s Surry Hills Festival lineup also includes indie-folk trio Sons Of East and bluegrass act The Pigs, with more artists still to be announced, including some emerging talent direct from the Australian Institute Of Music (AIM).
The 2015 instalment of Surry Hills Festival will see these musical talents perform amidst food stalls, local creatives, designers, businesses and installation artists on Saturday, 26th September.
Musos are also being invited to take showcase their songwriting talents and love for Surry Hills in the Surry Song Competition. Applications close 18th September, so check the Surry Hills Festival website for details.
Surry Hills Festival took a year off in 2013, but returned in September 2014, with musical acts such as Donny Benet, The Laurels and Spookyland taking to the stage. Catch this year’s first lineup announcement, below.
Funds raised by donations at Surry Hills Festival 2015 will go towards the community programs of the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre.
