Sydney Laneway Festival Drops Age Restriction To 16+

Good news for Sydneysiders that are just under the legal drinking age and were hoping to hit up St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival – the iconic festival has lowered its entry age to 16+ for the first time ever.

“We’ve worked really hard with police and the Royal Botanic Garden Trust (the authority for The Domain) to make this happen,” the festival said in a statement.

“We’ve had a really positive experience in every other city and look forward to putting on another fun, safe event for a new generation of music fans at our new home in The Domain this February.”

To celebrate this, the festival has released a bunch of first release-priced tickets available to 16 and 17 year olds only. On top of that, the first 1,000 people who buy these tickets will receive a limited edition glow in the dark poster.

Next year’s Laneway festival will be headlined by The 1975 and Charli XCX, with Ruel, Earl Sweatshirt, Tones And I and more also playing.
