Tame Impala’s ‘Let It Happen’ Gets A Funky 9-Minute Remix From Soulwax

Tame Impala‘s sound is already pretty darn spacious, but a new nine-minute remix of their track Let It Happen from the electro-rock minds of Belgium’s Soulwax is taking things to a whole new level of cosmic funk.

Soulwax’s interpretation of the hood-laden Currents track (below) sees the group draw out Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker’s vocals until they’re just mutterings in a room of groovy bass rhythms and soupy synthesizers.

Let It Happen‘s Soulwax remix comes on the same day that Sydney producer and remix wizard Paul Mac reached out to Parker on Twitter in the hope of putting his name down for the next Tame Impala remix. “Still crushing on the album & have an angle for a remix if you’re keen,” Mac posted. Catch his full tweet, below.

Tame Impala will be taking the original version of Let It Happen on the road with all the other fresh cuts from Currents this November as part of their lengthy national tour.

Until then, catch Soulwax’s nine-minute remix of Let It Happen below, but be warned — the ending will have you yearning for more, so best to relive the original’s freaky music video as well.
