The 1975 confirm new music will be out before they tour Australia

UK outfit The 1975 have been working on their forthcoming fourth album for some time.

It’s already titled Notes On A Conditional Form, and was originally slated for a May 2019 release.

Now their label Dirty Hit Records has confirmed The 1975 will definitely have new music out before they play Reading and Leeds Festival this August.

“The record is coming together,” said Dirty Hit Records boss Jamie Osborne.

“We’ve had this recording studio tour bus on the American tour which has been great for productivity… The boys have been constantly working.

“I can’t say exactly when it will come, there are a few elements coming together, but we will be releasing music before Reading.”

The band are heading to Australia to play some huge arena and stadium-sized shows across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth throughout September, marking their first trip down under since January 2016.

That means there’s a pretty good chance that we’ll get to listen to the entire album before they arrive.

Osborn also let slip that he feels like it will be “a long album” but wouldn’t commit to whether it will be a double album or not.

Either way, we’re so, so ready.
