Hot on the heels of being announced on the monster lineup for Spilt Milk’s 2025 comeback and making their triple j Like A Version debut, The Dreggs have dropped the motherload, announcing the imminent arrival of their sophomore album and a national headline tour to boot.
Their second LP, dubbed The Art of Uncommon Practice, will be released independently on Friday, 25th July.
The Dreggs – ‘Get Knocked Down’
The Sunshine Coast folk duo have also loosed a fresh cut of the forthcoming record dubbed ‘Get Knocked Down’, an energetic, driving track that was co-written and co-produced with Matt Corby and Chris Collins.
“‘Get Knocked Down’ is all about the experiences of getting older,” The Dreggs’ Paddy Macrae explains. “Some embrace it with open arms, while others struggle with the concept of aging. It’s a song that touches on the internal conflict about the balance of feeling older while understanding that getting older doesn’t mean you are running out of time.”
He continues: “It’s a song about reminding yourself that while reminiscing on past times may lead to feeling older, it’s also important to accept that there is still time to achieve your goals, whatever they may be.”
To coincide with the release of the LP that houses the single, The Dreggs will hit the road this July, playing four huge headline shows in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane, supported by rapidly-rising South Summit and dream-pop talent Holly Hebe.
