The Ocean Announce 2015 Australian Tour

After they were left in limbo this year when an earlier tour was cancelled, German progressive metal band The Ocean, aka The Ocean Collective, have announced they will finally be returning to Australia in April 2015.

The Ocean will play their highly acclaimed record Pelagial in full for the very first time in Australia on their 2015 tour which will kick off at Canberra’s The Basement on Wednesday April 8th, before moving to Sydney, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.

Earlier this year, the German outfit appealed to fans on social when, according to the group, their initial promoter “proved to be a flake”, and left a planned January 2015 tour in limbo. Things seem to be back on track now for the band to bring Pelagial, a progressive and ambitious body of work, to Australian audiences for the first time.

According to the band, the album was designed to take the listener on a journey that begins at the surface of the ocean and plunges through all five pelagic depth zones: epipelagic, mesopelagic, bathyalpelagic, abyssopelagic, and hadopelagic.

The concept record was written, recorded and mixed to be performed live as one single 53-minute piece of music. See all The Ocean’s Austraian tour dates and ticketing information below.
