The Tatura Hotel in the Goulburn Valley region of Victoria has put the call out to Mr Kanye West, in the hope that he will agree to perform at its post-renovation launch party. It’s a big goal, but the hotel already has a promotional video and hashtag at its disposal.
Over the last month, the Tatura Hotel — which calls itself “The Internet’s Pub” — has been raising money for renovations via an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign.
In that time, the pub has raised over $30,000 in contributions on the way to its $65,000 goal. With less than a week left in the campaign, the venue is planning something pretty big for when (and if) it reaches its goal.
In its latest update to supporters, the Tatura Hotel says, “If we hit our target of 65K, we want Kanye to come and play for the good people of Tatura. Carn Kanye, let’s make this pub great!”
The team behind the Tatura Hotel have thrown this plan into motion with a cheeky “Carn Kanye” video (below), which comes with the disclaimer: “Kanye West is not performing live at the Tatura Hotel but we’d really like him to.” Also, the chap at the end of the video is priceless.
Pairing the clip with the pretty multipurpose hashtag #carnkanye, the Tatura Hotel is well on its way to getting one of the world’s most famous musicians to rap at what would be the most intimate venue he’s performed at in years.
