Tom Hanks Is Back In Australia To Film Elvis Biopic And Let Us Join Hands In Prayer

Despite all odds and perhaps his better judgement, Tom Hanks has returned to Australia to begin work on his forthcoming film so coronavirus best back off.

Of course, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were last in the country in March, where they both tested positive for coronavirus just before it – uh – really hit the fan.

Hanks landed on Tuesday night at Coolangatta airport on a private jet, and will of course be spending two weeks in mandatory hotel quarantine. Or, because he’s wealthy, he might be exempt from quarantining in a hotel because that’s just how life is.

Hanks was initially here – and has returned – to film Baz Luhrmann’s forthcoming Elvis Presley biopic. He is set to star as Presley’s manager, Colonel Parker.

Other actors set to star in the film include Austin Butler, who’ll play the King himself, as well as Maggie Gyllenhaal and Olivia DeJonge.

The movie, Luhrmann’s first movie since 2013’s The Great Gatsby, is slated for release at some point next year.
