Put on your dancing shoes, because disco legends Village People and KC And The Sunshine Band have just announced a new Australian tour with fellow party-starters Sister Sledge.
The dancefloor-friendly trio of acts are set to perform huge shows in Melbourne and Sydney this December, and they’ll also tour the country with five other shows for A Day On The Green in the same month.
KC And The Sunshine Band will be touring with their whole 15-piece crew, while Village People (who already toured Australia this year) will this time be fronted by their original frontman and ‘cop’ Victor Willis, making his first appearances with the band in over 25 years.
“The biggest initial break in my career was in Australia in 1976 when I starred as the Tin Man in the Australian version of ‘The Wiz’,” Willis says.
“So really, it all started for me there. Therefore, it’s fitting that I kick off my return as the lead singer in Australia because the people there loved me first.”
Joining Village People, KC And The Sunshine Band and Sister Sledge at their A Day On The Green shows will be Aussie music legend Marcia Hines.
